“Time Runs Out” is a Marvel event that started in September 2014. This event stars the Avengers, and is the next big part of the story that Jonathan Hickman has been telling in both “Avengers” and “New Avengers” since he took over those titles at the beginning of the Marvel NOW initiative. “Time Runs Out” is set eight months in the future of the Marvel 616 Universe, so many of the other Marvel titles will be filling in the blanks as to how things got to this point. One of the Comic Book Time Machine hosts, Matt Anderson, will be reading these two Avengers titles every month in order to fill listeners in on what is happening in the event.

In 7 Months…Time Runs Out!

The issues that will be discussed and spoiled in this episode include the following:

Avengers (2012) #36 – Release Date: October 8, 2014

New Avengers (2013) #25 – Release Date: October 15, 2014

Avengers (2012) #37 – Release Date: October 22, 2014

My recommendation discussed in this episode:

Silver Surfer (2014) Volume 1: New Dawn – Release Date: November 4, 2014

    BAHHHHHHHH! Nerd rage:
If there were infinite universes, then it is impossible that by sequential subtraction you would now have ‘merely’ hundreds of thousands. …and I don’t mean “really impractical” I mean “logically incoherent”.
Not to mention, which I will, of course, that if these ‘universes’ can interact, then they aren’t universes, but part of the same universe.
None of which is your fault, Matt, but the drivel they are feeding us…er, our kids, these days just raises my hackles.
Keep up the good work, I really enjoy the show.

Thanks for your comments, Rhoetus. I think that you have proven that Marvel does not have an infinite number of universes in their Multiverse. I’ve been mostly enjoying this storyline, but I think you bring up some good points. I’ve already recorded podcast episodes for “Time Runs Out” Months 3 and 4, so watch for those coming soon!
