Using Star Wars as a guideline,  we’re exploring comic books based on licensed properties that Marvel Comics published from 1977 to 1986.

Peter Benchley, mastermind behind the novel Jaws, rode a wave of popularity that caused studios to go after more from him. In their deep dive for blockbuster treasure, they made The Deep, based on his novel of the same name, and Marvel comics was right there to help them promote the movie with a comic book adaptation!
